[writing, self publishing] i kissed the poison on your lips 'til i was paralyzed.

So, I finished another draft early this morning. It's a story I really, really like and so does balsamandash which is great. I need to do some tweaking on it obviously but that's okay! I can work with that and I might even have it in by the deadline for this anthology I'm shooting for.

I'm giving myself until the 1st do to edits on both the drafts that August has, then I'm going to try and start something new, though I'm not honestly sure what that is going to be. I have a thing in my brain about forest deities and falling in love but we'll see if I manage that one.

In other news, we've been talking about that self publishing project I've been toying with. I definitely think I want to run with the muse thing. I love the idea of this lady inspiring and supporting other women (and kissing them, did i mention kissing them?) I'm trying to figure out how I am going to get money I might need for the project but I think that, if I can, I'm going to put forth any money I get from short story sales towards the self pub project.

I think I might actually do this, if only to show myself that I can do it at least once. I'm not expecting to make much money off of it but I want to show myself that I can start and finish a project that is both longer than my normal short stories and that I can do it without viciously hating it (oh ghostwriting, you broke me a little bit).
