SO hey, we survived the darkness, quite literally depending on where you are. From here on out, the sun will come into our lives more and more and the fact that we are here to see it is amazing.

This week has been a bit of a muddle, but December is often like that, so. But I'm still here and I've got coffee and that's the most important thing.

This week has been a rollercoaster, but we're (hopefully) leveling off a bit and plans for Christmas Eve and Day seem like they might actually happen.

I love the idea of these threads you do.

I completed the re-indexing of my posted fic here on DW (I set the publication date to keep it at the top of my page and off people's reading pages), which was a fairly major undertaking even without including each individual microfic that is only on Tumblr. My sense of order is very happy about this, particularly since it's better-structured than the original one (which is on Tumblr, and I also updated, but I have no intent to completely re-do that page there)!

I got through a conversation with a close friend that I'd been panicky about ahead of time - I do the thing where if I go what feels like too long without answering a message, I get more and more anxious about talking to the person at all. But I only let it go a little over a week, this time, instead of, um, over a year (2016 through most of this year have been the most hellacious of my life, which I'm sure I'll dwell on in text at some point, but not now), which is progress.

Finally, I'm afraid I'm not going to finish the shawl I'm knitting for my mother in time for Christmas, but at least what I have so far has turned out very well, so it'll be lovely whenever she does get it.

I have so done the 'I've not talked to this person in too long, what do I do' thing. It's terrible and awkward and yeah. I understand this.

Also, yay for the organization and also progress, even if it's not as much as you would like. <333 THese are excellent things.

ANd thanks! I'm glad they strike you well. I love doing them too, so it's always nice to see people enjoying them.

I think the "oh no I haven't talked to them in too long" thing is a really common experience amongst the internet spoonie crowd, heh. At least we can all laugh/commiserate/facepalm about it together.

True, true. It's funny, I have a friend who I can go years without speaking to and then pick back up right where we were but for literally anyone else, I get really twitchy about it.

I used to have someone in my life like that. I... *think* he's permanently out of it, now, but I wouldn't be shocked if another year or two goes by and it turns out that's not the case.
