Feb. 8th, 2019 06:36 pmI'm coming to you a little late this week but it is still here nonetheless! I hope everyone is okay, that you are holding your head up and being kind to yourselves.
~
This post is for:
• being excited about the things you've done this week
• asking for help if you need it
• venting about anything that might need to be flailed over.
• showing off something cool you've done/made/experienced this week.
• being generally enthused and excited about things that have happened.
• just being thrilled that you survived.
Come drop into the comments and let us know how you're doing and how things have gone. While I may not respond to every comment myself, all of you are free to respond to each other and get encouragement, help or whatever else it is you need. If you want to vent without advice being given, please say so and if you want cheering or tips or anything, let us know that too.
I do ask that if you have any triggering topics, that you mention them in the subject line or first line of your comment. This is just so people can make informed decisions on what to read and keep everyone okay. <3 Thank you so much.

Date: 2019-02-09 12:40 am (UTC)I have a Hannibal WIP that has some of the best dialogue (I think) I've ever written, and I'm super excited to get it fleshed out/finished and published. I don't think it's going to get done tonight, but it will, soon, and I'm wiggling my butt like a cat ready to pounce with the anticipation.

Date: 2019-02-09 12:48 am (UTC)I finished a MLP fursuit I've been working on what feels like forever and ever, and it came out pretty good, I think. I sent pics to the customer, and he was like "nice, but what about the wings?"
Fuck.
So thankfully that can just be added, but I was so happy to be done with the damn thing, and now I'm not. :(

Date: 2019-02-09 12:55 am (UTC)Next, we get to empty all the stuff out of the target bathrooms and figure out where to put it while the work is in progress. Said work starts Tuesday. Wheee!

Date: 2019-02-09 01:13 am (UTC)Yeah I get that entirely. I love vegetables, I do, but I like noodles too much to stay away fully.
Re: On the move
Date: 2019-02-09 01:36 am (UTC)Yeah, we're hoping the cats come around. We won't want them to be escape threats or trip hazards while the work is in progress, so they will be confined to our quarters (which can be isolated from the work area). And that is not their comfort space right now, so we're hoping it will become their comfort space now that we are there. That will make it less traumatic when the door closes.
If they'll spend the night with us in the new digs, they can roam the house while the workers aren't there, and we can keep them safe in the morning.

Date: 2019-02-09 02:13 pm (UTC)I have a friend, in whom I have unrequited interest in being other things. We're both obsessive communicators, so interests and boundaries are acknowledged as asymmetrical, and there's sufficient emotional investment on his end that I'm not using "friends" casually, and I count us a net good thing.
Which did not make it terribly easier when he started dating after a long, long dry spell. It's a _good_ development, which I genuinely approve of and am happy is happening, but concurrently it's damn hard to observe someone else experience the very things I wish I could.
Anyway. This week I was able to locate and deliver a gag gift for friend's new dating-person, a perfect punchline to an in-joke, which she enjoyed in precisely the way I had hoped she would. I'm more than a little smug about making date (and thereby friend) happy, and a whole soup of conflicting emotions about the overall scenario.
Friend turned up at Spouse's birthday party, that was nice...
And oh, yeah, a birthday gathering for Spouse happened despite both of us anxiety-deferring planning until the actual day of, and it was Good, and the existential angst of being the age we are is at no higher than usual levels, which is pretty awesome.
