Happy New Year to those who celebrate it at this time of the year.

We're still here, all of us who are reading this. We're still here and isn't that wild? Like, we have defied everything that has tried to kill us, tried to keep us down and are still here for a little while longer.

I'm glad I'm here, there have been times when I wasn't glad, but right now, as I drink some coffee and type on this laptop, I'm happy I'm here and that you are too.

If I don't see you tomorrow, that's okay. The world is harsh right now, it's painful to exist against the landscape we're in right now, and if you can't handle it, if you can't make it to tomorrow for whatever reason, I loved knowing you. But if I do see you, if you read this and survive to see the sunrise/sunset, I'm happy for you.

Here's to a new year with new (and hopefully better) things.
