Friday Survival

It's Friday! We have survived and that is awesome. I am pretty content with being here, anyway. It's not the best of weeks but I am alive an so are you an that's pretty great.

In other news, WED will be posted later today and I will be a person before then, so woosh!

I'm almost done with the job that's been making things just that bit more difficult for me, so that's definitely a yay. Also, I don't feel miserable anymore, like I did most of this week. Still a bit tired and meh and extra sensitive, but mostly kind of okay, which is an improvement!

Sorry you're not having a good week, but yay for surviving it anyway! *hugs*

+ ART! I am working on a pretty big watercolour in the style of Mucha's ad posters. It's going to be so much fun :D
+ Writing. I did some.
+ Words in Korean. I learned a few.

+ HALLOWEEN (every day is Halloween, but some days are more Halloween than others)

I love his art so much -- he's one of my biggest influences/inspirations -- but this time I was specifically inspired by the current expo at the Musée du Luxembourg. Besides a film on The Slav Epic (one day I will see these paintings IRL!!!) they also showed a bunch of prepatory sketches and what nots, which is super cool.

It's been a week. I did have a phone screen this morning -- I'll find out the results next week, probably -- and scheduled another for a week from Monday.

I've continued to post every day, though for the most part nothing profound. At least two people have linked to the cover of "Ripple" that I posted Saturday; I think that's a record (pun recognized but not intended) for me.

My sister and her kids were up here for a couple of days -- that was wonderful, and so was the music. That's going in directions I hadn't expected.

This was a hard week. I made it through the election night by watching anime instead of the returns, so that's been a lot of happy surprises as the week goes on. But I had to turn right around and drive to a conference, then go to the emergency protest while I was in a strange city in the most conservative part of Oregon after eight hours of networking for work. (The protest had a good crowd and was friendly, but it was waaaay too cold for the clothes I'd brought.)

This morning I just couldn't make myself go back to the conference, so I drive home. I only skipped three hours, and no one will notice, so it won't matter. But I really need a break.

I am extremely frustrated and just need to vent for a bit.

My coworker, God love her, is legit going to get herself fired because she went off her depression meds cold turkey and is now picking fights with literally every manager and telling me that every manager is out to get her?? I just. I have known at least one of these managers since I was four years old. I have stood up for myself with these managers and pushed back at them. I have asked for hugs from them and talked about my breakup with them and never?? once?? got in trouble for being inappropriate or for standing up for myself and I have no idea what the HELL this coworker is on about but she keeps getting written up???

What the FUCK is she even doing. I feel bad for her, I like her very much, but I'm really very sure that the problem is with her, not with all seven (!!!!) of our managers plus an additional one who has since left my workplace. And I am SO. FRUSTRATED. with her. This blew up after she went off her meds cold turkey. You don't go off your meds cold turkey if you don't have to, and she doesn't have to, she just doesn't want to take them, and I AM SO FRUSTRATED AAAAAUGH. '

Thank you. <33 she told me today she's taking a couple months' leave, which will probably do everyone involved some good, and give her a chance to ride out the rest of the withdrawal. So good decision-making there. But thank you for letting me vent, because I really needed to.
