Now we'll see what this love is for

Here are a whole bunch of Three sentence ficathon fills under tthe cut.
Demeter + Hades // awkward Family reunions:
Persephone makes it a point to stand between them, her eyes on her mother, her hand wrapped around Hades own.
He bites back a small smile, nodding to his wife before raising his head and meeting Demeter's gaze, his expression calm, neutral even.
Demeter looks between the two of them, shakes her head, and pushes past, dismissing them both and moving to tend to other matters.
Demeter + Persephone // a woman's rage is like the winter:
Persephone does not get angry at her mother, nor does she fight her when she rises from the depths of the darkness into the light of the sun and into Demeter's embrace.
But she is cold, chilled down to her core, her words like cracked ice and her stare harsher than any winter.
She is not angry, she tells Demeter, but both of them know different.
Hades/Persephone // Wait for me:
In the dark, they whisper words to one another, promises and stories both. He tells her that he'll give her everything he can, that all he has is hers to do with what she wants.
She just tells him that all she needs is for him to wait, to give her the time she needs and when she gets back, all she has is his.
Sirens (mythological figure) // the song remains
It's the song that stays with them, the song that echoes, the song that haunts. Even after breaking free of dagger-sharp talons and after the sun kisses their skin once again, the song remains.
Some people can manage to get away from the sirens but they'll never get free.
Sirens (mythological figure) // they didn’t disappear when we conquered the seas
They sing still, sing in the rivers, on the rocky shores by the sea. They sing loud and clear and echoing through your mind, bouncing around your brain and never releasing you until you find yourself drowning in their noise.
They sing, and they haunt, and the stalk until they find you.
They never left the water, they never had to, because you and yours, you restless wanderers who are made for the exploring, always come to them.
So come into the river, the ocean, the lake, the stream. Come and listen, sing along,
You won't feel a thing.
Will Graham // Cradling your kill:
In his sleep, Will dreams of the people he's killed. He dreams of holding them close, of feeling the last bits of life drain out of them.
When he wakes, sweat and unnerved, he calls for one of the dogs, feels the warmth of life between his hands and tries to relax enough to get some actual rest.
Natasha/Bucky // remember:
They both have blood on their hands, there's no denying that. Their bodies hold the memories of more death than anyone will know and yet, when they're around each other, it's almost like they can dance around it. They can remember who they were, know that the other understands, and discover the people they will be.
Original fic // I am not throwing away my shot:
Dorian and Dorothy sit in the back of the car, a pair of earbuds split between them. Dorothy bounces in her chair, grinning wide and singing along to the damn Hamilton soundtrack for who-only-knows how long.
Timothy doesn't actually mind hearing her sing, it's kind of soothing, but he can tell Jack is this close to driving the car off a cliff if he hears it again.
Vassilisa // I hold with those who favor fire:
She holds the fire between her hands, remembering the lessons the Baba Yaga taught her, knowing not to fear the burning. The light between her fingers guides her back to the family who didn't want her and, once she has moved past them, guides her to a new life. A life that she's not afraid to burn for.
There is also This promptathon going on as well
~
Tomorrow I make a TDL of things I need to accomplish by the end of the month and see what I can knock out by the 29th, which is when my mother arrives and we have to do all the things that comes with that.
For now, I think I am going to try and get some coffee and enough brain to work on something, be it cleaning or writing o something else, so I don't completely waste today.

Date: 2018-12-17 06:07 am (UTC)I LOVE IT SO MUCH TOO. It's not what I saw them in classical mythology, but I am very there for that version. Very. Hades/Persephone are my faves there as well, to the surprise of pretty much no one, but I feel for Eurydice and Orpheus, as well. I love that the two couples compliment one another so well, and the music - MY GOD THE MUSIC. Who are your favs? What's your favorite song? Mine is probably Chant, but I also love Epic III.
(Also I love all your raven icon!)

Date: 2018-12-17 06:48 am (UTC)Right? Exactly. Like, I am all here for different interpretations myself and this one is just SO GOOD? Like, yes give it to me. But yeah, like the way the two couples play off of each other is *amazing* and I just really love this show? Cause yeah. How do you not?
Oh, Chant. I fucking adore Chant so, so much. When The Chips Are Down and Wait For Me are also high up there as well. I just really love the music in general? It's such good stuff.
(Awww, thank you! <3333 I shift through icons and feelings on them but right now, I kind of really like that one.)

Date: 2018-12-19 04:09 am (UTC)I've seen some of the more-Hellenic myth inspired people in the tags to be kind of be blase to it on Tumblr because they don't like that Hades and Persephone fight in it, but I kind of enjoy that in this. They are two very different people and I like that it traces their conflict -- but also traces their ability to reconcile with one another, too. And the way that they contrast their established relationship with the young love of Orpheus/Eurydice is just so??? amazing??? and the lyrics are SO GOOD and the music OH MY GOSH *fangirls excessively*
I LOVE When the Chips are Down/Gone as well! One of the things that really made me go "Oh shit I think I am stanning this musical now?" is that Eurydice makes this super practical choice on where to go for work and it's so much more refreshing to me, that it's her choice and not just nature, that sends her down to the Underworld. I also love that the Fates come in and basically tell the audience "Don't judge her unless you've walked a mile in her shoes." Eurydice is one of my favorites and Wait for Me (1) is so hard. I really love Hermes in this show too!!!!
ALL YOUR ICONS ARE GOOD <3
