Friday Survival:
Dec. 28th, 2018 03:46 amSo, we're almost at the end of the year. We made it through 2018. WHo the hell thought we'd do that? I definitely had doubts about my own capabilities but well, I did it. You did it too and that is damn fine living,
We're gonna see something new soon, something fresh and beautiful just beginning. Let's take of some arbitrary freshness and make something wonderful out of it.
~
This post is for:
• being excited about the things you've done this week
• asking for help if you need it
• venting about anything that might need to be flailed over.
• showing off something cool you've done/made/experienced this week.
• being generally enthused and excited about things that have happened.
• just being thrilled that you survived.
Come drop into the comments and let us know how you're doing and how things have gone. While I may not respond to every comment myself, all of you are free to respond to each other and get encouragement, help or whatever else it is you need. If you want to vent without advice being given, please say so and if you want cheering or tips or anything, let us know that too.
I do ask that if you have any triggering topics, that you mention them in the subject line or first line of your comment. This is just so people can make informed decisions on what to read and keep everyone okay. <3 Thank you so much.

Date: 2018-12-28 04:54 pm (UTC)I have been really bad at responding to this post this year, but I'm hoping to pop up in it more next year, because listing and celebrating achievements is a Good Thing.
This week my primary achievements are getting work done and surviving extended family time.
Not this week, but this month, I finally figured out how to get my work to give me the hours it's supposed to, so finances might be better this coming year, which has been more of a load off my shoulders than I realized it would be lately. It's... probably not a healthy thing to lay it on, but I do have to admit that having a job and making a decent amount of money has done a lot to bring up my daily level of self-loathing to something I can handle. Self-esteem is still not exactly great, but I'm not having hate spirals nearly as much or with as little prompting, and that's something good.
Something less good: New pains. If anybody has any advice on dealing with what is likely (based on placement, research, and the fact that my mother gets it too) sciatic nerve pain, I could use it; I'm looking into it myself, but points in the right direction are always good.

Date: 2018-12-28 11:18 pm (UTC)~I got through another winter hols with the fam with only one instance of temper - which I kept and worked through, instead of snapping and acting out, and then removed my self from the situation when the task was done. The inevitable meltdown was small and shared with my sister, so we wept and bonded, which worked out well. Xmas overall went MUCH better than last year, and I got to quietly celebrate my own holiday too.
~the trip home went very well, which was a lovely change. And the day and a half break between trip and work was EXCELLENT. I'm going to make that part of the yearly plan.
~I scrubbed the tub. As this is my least favorite chore, it's worth noting. ;D

Date: 2019-01-01 09:58 pm (UTC)Cleaning is the woooorse. On the other hand, you'll still have a clean house after all the visiting is done, which should help you settle in to the new place more.

Date: 2018-12-30 04:41 am (UTC)I am surviving and not having panic attacks. That is an accomplishment, and I am proud of it.

Date: 2018-12-31 05:01 am (UTC)You should be, trying to wrangle panic attacks are terrible and the fact that you are managing is super impressive.
