I am definitely into Castle Rock and keep meaning to commit fic. One day I will cave and do the thing. One day...

I don't know how I got here but here we go:

So like, there are distinct images coming to mind with this fic and I have no idea how they sort themselves out but here's a summary:

Henry/Caged!Henry (The Kid)
The Kid is back in the cage and Henry is there, taking up the mantle of keeping him locked up. The Kid can feel time crawling on him, seconds falling from his fingertips as he lives in the darkness again. He can't do this though, can't keep lying down while the time and the universe crackle against his skin..

He reaches out and when he does, the other Henry doesn't pull away.

My favorite part is the weird, slow burn, power exchange-y bits because I'm predictable. The Kid slowly luring Henry to get closer and closer, and eventually open the cage and let him out makes me happy as well as the weird pseudo-voyeurism that I got to wrap in there with the idea of Time being alive and hungry and feeding off of the two of them existing in such close proximity.

!! Very cool! The weird time dilation stuff and the alternate selves are my favorite parts of the show, so I am delighted by this. I would many words of fic where Time was some kind of hungry entity - which I guess would make the kid in our world (or Henry in the kid's world) into some kind of perpetual motion machine.

But also yes, weird, slow burn, power exchange-y bits. tbh I was disappointed by the finale because I wanted something weirder and, IDK, narratively braver than "And then Henry did the same thing Alan and the superintendent did before him," but a turn like this would go some way to soothing my feelings. XD

I feel you re: the finale. Like, I want weirder shit than what we got but that's okay, I have fic for that. XD

My other idea for the fic was the kid actually being a weird time being that steals the identity of other people to carve a bit of existence for himself and while he should not actually exist against Henry, he is and it's like a drug for him, so every time they're close, he's feeding off of the strings that bind them and...things. And at some point, they probably fuck while the kid simultaneously feeds off of their paradox.

Good heavens, I would like this a LOT. Weird is WHAT I AM HERE FOR for this canon, like, I was just along for the ride until ep 7 or whatever it was when we get the ep from the kid's POV. BLEW MY SOCKS OFF. So I freaking love your idea of the kid as a ~time being~ who finds Henry kind of addictive to *ahem* be near.

And at some point, they probably fuck while the kid simultaneously feeds off of their paradox.
