Gender stuff but nothing upsetting? Just musing on it a little.

So, my brain has been on gender stuff lately and like....Wording? Pronouns, disclosure and stuff like that.

In all seriousness, I'm considering telling folks who ask my gender/pronouns that I am of the Void. My gender and pronouns have been consumed and absorbed into the darkness, so I am all genders, without gender, and whatever it is you see when you look into darkness late at night.

I completely feel you on this. Most days I'm whatever, but then others I can't stop thinking about gender bits. My go-to for explaining my gender to others is N/A or gendernope, though the Void is so good. I found a post yesterday about other ways to react to people who ask about your gender, all of which were silly, overdramatic, and perfect and if I come across it again, I'll be sure to share :D

Gender is weird af and just....a concept I like more if I think of it as something of a fluid nature, rather than something stagnant. But yeah, definitely hit me up if you find that post, I bet it's fun

Gender and most other things for me are fluid as all get out. I just roll with things most of the time and it is why I generally use they/them more than anything else.

I love that approach -- very "the Tao that can be named is not the Tao". Of course it immediately occurred to me to wonder how one is supposed to pronounce the empty string. Perhaps with the sound of one lip flapping?

Yeah, that I really get. It's like, gender is Everything! or maybe gender is Nothing! or just, like, five things associated with a concept that isn't really gender the way cis people/society think of it.

Funny that I have very strong character and odd personal feelings tied to The Hunting OF The Snark.

...Which, now I have 'softly and suddenly' bouncing in my brain over and over again. Very gentle repetition of the three words because I've always loved how they felt on my mouth.

There's a super detailed system in my brain of how people get classified that has very little to do with conventional gender. It really only gets taken into account and really noted as something to pinpoint if I am aware that it is a crucial part of how they ID.

Brains are weird but so is gender, so it works.

I'm mostly pissed off that I'm required to disclose gender, such as it is, to total strangers. What are my pronouns - none of generic-you's damn business, buy me a drink first. Why do we even have to have'em?

I myself keep coming back to the line "I am vast and contain multitudes" which isn't the actual quote, but I like vast better than large so my hindbrain rewrote it.

(The actual line is "Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.")

My brain occasionally provides me with that line too. And I remember it as vast, even though I know it's wrong, so our brains are similar in that.

'I am vast' is honestly just a nice way of saying it as well.
