So, my mom is here until Wednesday, so don't mind if I don't get to comments this go around. However, I do have my cats back, which is amazing and I could not be happier about that.

I'm a finalist at this university job that I applied for back in July!!! I honestly thought they had pushed my resume aside because I hadn't heard anything since early August. Then I had my first interview on the 13th and my second on the 25th. Now, they're checking my references and I should hear back next month if the job is mine or not. It just seems unreal right now that something so big could be happening so fast. Fingers crossed!

I'm also raising money for a one-off therapy session and the cycle of generational trauma HERE.

Phone interview this morning for temp job. I think it went really well. (Good thing it was a phone interview, too, my face did the bug-eyes astonished emoji when she said the pay rate. Or rather the ballpark pay rate, since usually they go through a temp agency for this thing and she didn't actually have that number to hand. And it is probably good she didn't see that.) She said she needs to make a decision today, so I am hoping to hear in the affirmative in the next few hours.

I AM MOOOOVED. \o/

Today I went to a Native artists panel at Pacific Northwest College of Art and so fascinating y'all. In particular I want to pepper this Navajo/Diné weaver with questions. Haven't figured out what I can ask without sounding asshole appropriationist, though.

I'm gonna finish the square that's on my pin loom in a blue cotton thread that's too small for the loom, which I'll use on my Athena altar somehow. And then I'm gonna weave a bunch of squares with worsted wool yarn and sew them together into purses. The kit I bought is a blue-purple-reddishpink variegated, and that purse will be for me, and the instructions will also serve to make a baby-blue-and-lavender one for my mother. Since her birthday is seven weeks off, and all. And I'm going to photodocument the crafting process for that and anything else I work on in the next six weeks, because Nov 8 is Khalkeia and I'm running Hellenion's online festival.

As an east coaster, Native art fascinates me too. I'm so glad you got to see it in person. The website Beyond Buckskin is also a good place to buy Native goods from Native people, without having to worry about appropriation, if you're interested.

I have not heard about the job. So either I have not got it or they didn't decide yet in which case I hope to hear Monday.

Between weather-related headaches and starting my period, I have miraculously not strangled any toddlers this week!
(I'm such a bad Gramma, but my cycle *really* chomps my fuse down to a nubbin and they SO don't grasp Gramma needs QUIET on the regular even when I'm NOT bleeding from the nethers)

I haven't opened it *yet*, but I'm planning to do a prompt call at the start of October to hopefully generate ideas for short fiction I'll then post for free on my Patreon so it's more than just fanfic in fandoms all of five people will ever read? XD (Patreon continues to be a thing I'm still trying to figure out, even years into it)

I now have three job applications that I'm waiting to hear about, two from this week, and a rejection for one that I applied for a couple of weeks ago.

I spent all of today programming. It's something of a relief to know that I can still do that.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! As someone who was recently on the job hunt - and might be back there very soon - I salute you on applying. Rejections are hard, but I hope there's something good coming soon. :)

Second therapy session went well. It was hard, but the good kind of hard where I felt better after. So I'm pretty happy with the new therapist.

Work was suddenly impossibly busy this week, but I got the thing done that was due today and think I can get done the thing that's due on Tuesday. If I work part of the weekend, blech. But I'll get paid for it, so it doesn't suck too bad.

Held my first-ever Postcards to Voters party with some of my friends, and it went really well! I got through fifteen postcards in the same time it took everyone else to do five, but I've been at this a while and I've got a system at this point. But there were way more done at the end of the evening that I could've done myself, and we'll do it again next week. And everyone had fun! I'm really not a party person, but this was good.
