Okay, one more wordy meme thing (I'm going to finish the other thing tonight/tomorrow but sleep might be a thing that happens first, we'll see):

Greek Myth (or variant fandom - Hadestown etc), Hades, "Epistolary"

Hades through history, reading letters written by those in the process of losing people. It's an exploration of the changing world and ways of grieving as much as it is an exploration of him, his reactions and things of that nature.

My favorite part is the end, where he writes his own letter, saying goodbye to the past, to the old stories and beliefs people have carried with them about the myths of the underworld and in turn, him.

Also, the part where he walks away from the underworld, just for a while, to greet the modern age, sunlight on his skin, people milling about, traffic and city sounds ringing n his hears, while Persephone smiles at him and tosses a few coins in the guitar case of a busker, is one of my favorite images of this already.
